South Africa is hosting the Green Economy Summit
C`E TOWN – The Africa’s Green Economy Summit will take place from 22nd to 25th February 2023 in Cape Town, South Africa.

He added: “The burgeoning renewable energy sector in our province will be empowered by the Western Cape Government to find and capitalize on the opportunities to harness innovation in the green economy. We are ready to face this crisis head-on

Over 80 speakers have gathered during the 4-day summit, Africa’s Green Economy Summit will bring together financiers, project developers,
and government officials highlighting investment prospects emerging across the continent in green hydrogen, electric vehicles,
Energy storage, solar, hydro, and wind power, infrastructure development, urban sustainability, and manufacturing.
Cape Town is home to a thriving green economy, said Cape Town’s Executive Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis, the city looks forward to welcoming delegates to the summit and stands ready to help create investment opportunities in this innovative space .
“We are positioning Cape Town as a leading city for energy security, not just in our country but in Africa. We are the first subway to pay
Cash for electricity direct from residents and businesses with approved solar PV installations. We also buy electricity on the open market via a large 3-phase procurement. These include renewable energy, on-demand power, battery storage and an incentive program for voluntary energy savings through remote device shutdown.”
