Aug 31 (Reuters) – Slovakia’s Economy Minister Richard Sulik said on Wednesday he had tendered his resignation and was ready for further coalition talks to defuse a dispute that has engulfed the government.
Sulik’s liberal SaS party, a junior partner in the governing coalition, has called for the resignation of Finance Minister Igor Matovic in a bid to stabilize the government.
Prime Minister Eduard Heger said earlier on Wednesday that Matovic could resign under certain conditions as he seeks a last-minute deal to defuse the dispute that threatens to cost his government a parliamentary majority. Continue reading
