At the invitation of the negotiators, Sinema helped create common ground throughout the budget negotiations to avoid defaults
WASHINGTON – Senior Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema released the following statement on the Senate passage of the bipartisan budget deal to protect the American economy and prevent a default:
“Defaulting is not an option and Congress’ willingness to hold our country’s economy hostage for political reasons is wrong. Today’s passage of our bipartisan budget deal protects our economy and Americans’ opportunities to build a better life. Congress must come together to pass budgets on time, manage excess spending to reduce costs, and make wise investments to fuel growth and innovation while protecting critical programs that serve Arizona’s veterans, seniors, tribe and families .”
Because of her trusting relationships with US House and White House negotiators, Sinema has been invited to provide common ground between the two sides in the budget negotiations. As the agreement progressed, it sought consensus on a number of issues to avoid a national default and to promote policies to promote manufacturing, infrastructure and energy development, which also lay the basis for further bipartisan cooperation in good faith place.
