Tourist bosses in Devon have said attracting more cruise ships to Plymouth will add millions of pounds to the local economy.
The MS Rotterdam docked in Plymouth Sound on Sunday morning after leaving New York eight days ago.
It is the largest ship of its kind to dock and represents one of about a dozen cruise ship visits in 2023.
Tourists on cruises are expected to generate £2million for the local economy this year.
With around 18 visits expected next year, Destination Plymouth said there could be a big boost for local businesses.
The tourism organization has previously called on companies to decorate shops and welcome those coming ashore.
Harbor Master Richard Allan said MS Rotterdam’s visit to Plymouth had proved a great success with those on board and it was hoped this could lead to further visits to the ship in the future.

Destination Plymouth chief executive Amanda Lumley said: “A lot of the people who came here this morning were really keen to get on the hoe, they’ve heard from Sir Francis Drake, they want to see the cobbled streets, so yes, there’s a lot for them to see and do here.”
Captain Bas Van Druemel said on Sunday Plymouth was “a beautiful port to showcase to our guests”.
Jerry Crystal, a Connecticut passenger, said he enjoyed visiting the Barbican and the lighthouse.
“It’s really a great place and very friendly,” he said.
