CUDC is pleased to announce our signature annual event – the Hamilton Dinner. Please join us in person as we welcome Jared Bernstein for a fascinating and informative discussion on the state of the US economy against the backdrop of both increasingly complex geopolitical forces and contemporary domestic issues.
As a senior economist with a front-row seat for the government’s economic strategy and fiscal maneuvers, Mr. Bernstein will offer his views on how forces such as global inflation, the war in Ukraine, the energy crisis, the relocation of workers and jobs after the Pandemic occurring environment, supply chain trends and the destructive forces of climate change are all impacting the US economy. As the US attempts to lead the free world through this perfect storm, Mr. Bernstein’s perspective is particularly timely.

Jared Bernstein is a member of the White House Council of Economic Advisors. Bernstein has held various policy advisory roles in Washington in recognition of his expertise in the areas of federal and state economic and tax policy, income inequality and mobility, employment and income trends, international comparisons, and analysis of financial and housing markets. From 2011 to 2020 he was a Senior Fellow at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, a research institute dedicated to reducing poverty and inequality.
Bernstein was Vice President Biden’s chief economic adviser from 2009 to 2011 under the Obama administration. Before joining this government, he was senior economist and director of the Living Standards Program at the Economic Policy Institute, a nonpartisan think tank that proposes policies to protect and improve the living standards of working families. he also held the post of Deputy Chief Economist at the US Department of Labor.
As the author of numerous books and publications, Bernstein always strives to convey his economic policy ideas to a wider audience. He has published extensively in mainstream media and maintains his own blog, On the Economy.
