ECONOMY – A new housing development is coming to the district.
During a recent meeting, the local council voted to approve phase one for the Courtyards in Lakeside Village.
The proposed development by Mars-based Weaver Homes would be approximately 82 acres on Pfaff Road and consist of 130 single-family units and a clubhouse. The homes would have no age restrictions and would allow pets.
As part of the proposed development there would be a new access point on the Conway-Wallrose Road, sidewalks would be in place on both sides of the road and sewage and water would be provided by existing providers in the area.
Economic manager Randy S. Kunkle said the developers expect to break ground this year and the entire project will be implemented in various phases over the next several years.

Kelly Dunn, Weaver’s vice president of sales and marketing, said that Weaver Homes is affiliated with Epcon Communities and this will be the 13th community it will be working on, the first in Beaver County.
She said each unit will have a first-floor owner’s suite, with owners choosing to have either ranch-style or second-floor options.
Dunn said it will be a “low maintenance community,” meaning grass mowing, mulching and snow removal will be done for owners.
The central community clubhouse will include a heated swimming pool, fitness center and a large common area with a kitchen and entertainment room that will be available 24 hours a day and can be rented for private parties.
Dunn said these units will be owner-only, no rentals or leases, and each owner will own their own lot and have the ability to customize their floor plan, and some units will have basements.
She said the community will be centered around a lake that can be filled for fishing and used for activities like canoeing and paddleboarding.
Dunn said Weaver hopes to have the first lots available for sale in the early months of 2023.
She said Weaver chose this area in Economy because of its space and access to the lake, as well as Economy’s relatively close proximity to Cranberry Township and the Wexford area.
