Ministry of Economic Affairs and Mastercard sign cooperation agreement

The Ukrainian Ministry of Economy and the global technology company Mastercard have signed a cooperation agreement to implement the “Made in Ukraine” policy.

The corresponding statement was made by the press service of the ministry, reports a Ukrinform correspondent.

The document was signed by First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of Economy Yuliia Svyrydenko, Mastercard Eastern Europe Division President Yasemin Bedir and Mastercard CEO in Ukraine and Moldova Inga Andreeva.

The memorandum envisages cooperation in supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, in particular in improving digital business processes (digital solutions for accepting payments, issuing electronic receipts, raising awareness of innovative financial trends).

In addition, the parties will cooperate in the field of expert and technological partnership in the implementation of the national cashback program for Ukrainian goods in support of the “Made in Ukraine” platform and communication campaigns of the Ukrainian Ministry of Economy.

“Despite war, constant missile attacks, power outages, disrupted supply chains and labor shortages, local entrepreneurs continue to work. Therefore, the government policy “Made in Ukraine” aims to support them, enable their development through various government programs and stimulate demand for domestic products and services both in Ukraine and abroad,” Svyrydenko emphasized.

A reminder that on January 26, 2024, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on the establishment of the All-Ukrainian Economic Platform “Made in Ukraine”. The aim of the platform is to ensure effective dialogue and combine the efforts of government authorities and companies, promote the business activities of Ukrainian manufacturers, promote Ukrainian products, improve the investment climate and economic conditions for Ukraine's recovery, modernization and economic growth to create and encourage Ukrainian citizens to return from abroad.
