NEW YORK, Dec 1 (Reuters) – Ongoing Russian attacks on Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure have increased the cost of keeping Ukraine’s economy afloat over the next year, falling to $1 billion a month from previous estimates by Raised $3 billion to $4 billion, the head of International Monetary Das Fund announced Thursday at the Reuters NEXT conference.
IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva said she was confident that the European Union, the United States and other international partners would continue to provide Ukraine with the necessary support.
She said the IMF had provided $2.7 billion in emergency financing to Ukraine and had just agreed a board surveillance program with Ukraine that would pave the way for a formal financing program.
