BOWLING GREEN, Kentucky (WBKO) – On Tuesday, Governor Beshear said unemployed Kentuckers should have no problem finding work in an “emerging economy”.
It did so after he announced a return to work incentive in June and Kentucky faced a labor shortage.
Governor Beshear says people who choose to be unemployed instead of work are only a small factor in our economy.
“We are in a place of r -id change and only red or blue arguments. You know, people who try to turn it into politics are not helping us occupy them or helping us create the workforce of the future. So it’s about coming together, knowing that this is a challenge that we would have liked to have had twelve months ago, and we’re excited about it now and we will master it, we will get these jobs filled, we will get people into good careers said Governor Beshear.
Those who returned to work by July 30th may qualify for a $ 1,500 Return to Work Incentive.
The benefit programs of the federal pandemic unemployment insurance will expire nationwide on September 6th.
Kentucky unemployment insurance -plicants will no longer be able to receive benefits from any of the four programs after this date.
