Gopuff has laid off hundreds of employees this year after previous rounds of job cuts as the fast-shipping startup struggles to stem its cash burn in a slowing economy.
The Philadelphia-based company recently laid off up to 250 employees, according to people familiar with the matter. The job cuts primarily affected customer service staff, who included a mix of full-time and temporary workers, the people said, asking not to be identified because they were not authorized to speak publicly. Gopuff had about 15,000 employees as of March.
