Free the Economy is a new podcast from the Competitive Enterprise Institute focused on how we can all become happier, healthier, and more prosperous in a world with less government control. This week we released the very first episode available here. Thank you to everyone’s support and hard work behind the scenes over the last few months that has helped us get here.
The key themes of Free the Economy will be both morality and the wealth-generating opportunities of a free economic system. We believe in a voluntary society, where consent, not coercion, governs human interactions. Market-based – rather than political – systems maximize this goal. And while the economy we have now offers many opportunities for financial success and self-expression, we know we can do even better.
In this week’s episode, we talk about creating a pro-market agenda for Congress in 2023, the myth of stagnant wages, debates about ESG investing, and the future of the Federal Trade Commission. This week’s interview is conducted by Alec Stapp, co-founder and co-CEO of the Institute for Progress. Alec joins us to discuss energy, environmental policy, housing, and how regulatory reform can help create an “abundance agenda” for the United States.
