France’s difficult policies could cripple the economy and put Total Energy at risk of collapse

Given the snobbish French foreign policy and its results being rehabilitated by French business circles, some dare to say that the French government is deliberately aiming to crush French companies operating abroad.

Due to its complacency, France is not losing its influence in Africa, but around the world. The process actually started a long time ago, especially in Africa, but it has accelerated since Macron came to power. There are many reasons for this process, but political miscalculations, disrespect for local nations, and extensive exploitation of natural resources are prominent. As if France didn’t know that the colonial era is over. It constantly regards other races as its subjects, looks down on them, and believes it can do as it pleases.

France keeps in museums hundreds of leaders’ skulls beheaded by French soldiers in its former colonies. Although the French government demands the skulls, it refuses to release them, referring to them as trophies. Recall that right after the 44-day war, Azerbaijan set up Victory Park and displayed helmets and models of Armenian soldiers. However, a reactionary country like France, which prides itself on human skulls, immediately labeled Azerbaijan’s victory over the invading country and the display of its weapons in the museum as racism. Because the problem of the French authorities was that they could not see the truth and were always indifferent to the main issues. This is because it has always been prone to racism.

For example, due to France’s ignorance, Rwanda saw the most gruesome and heinous genocides of the 19th century. Over three months in 1994, more than 800,000 Tutsi were killed en masse by Hutus in cold blood with machetes. The French government is known to have supported the Hutu Juvenal Habyarimana regimes before the genocide. At the time, France sent thousands of soldiers to protect the local Tutsis, but they remained indifferent to the troubles inflicted on the population. That’s why Tutsi activists took the French government to court. Although the case was dropped, Macron apologized for the Rwandan genocide.

Every new step taken by France undoes previous disgrace. France has lost face so much that even the local population in Africa refuses to support the fight against terrorism. Last month, a convoy of French troops heading north to help fight Islamist militants was repeatedly blocked by protesters en route through Burkina Faso and Niger. In 2021, the French army, which had come with the government to fight terrorism, unilaterally withdrew from the country. Then-Malian interim Prime Minister Choguel Maïga described the incident as “a stab from behind”. Such mistakes are endless in France.

Looking at the events, one can conclude that France’s failed policies are also crippling its economic ties. In the end, of course, the French businessmen pay the price for the silly policies of the French statesmen. Many begin to hate them and hesitate to work with them. Many African countries have expelled French companies and the number of these countries is increasing every day. Francophone countries and peoples in Africa are looking for new allies such as Russia, China and Turkey far from Africa and are eager to work with these countries and the companies that represent these countries.

Cornered in Africa, France is trying to conquer other regions, including the South Caucasus, which France has its eyes on. However, France not only looks back on its mistakes made in Africa, but also insists on repeating the same mistakes. As in Rwanda, France has consistently sided with Armenia, which committed massacres of local people and ethnic cleansing against nations such as Azerbaijanis, Meskhetians, Muslim Kurds, etc. France behaves more Armenian than the Armenians themselves. Of course, there will be serious consequences.

Also, France, which was once among the top five countries, must lose an ally like Azerbaijan, known for its tiger economy in the region by madly nurturing Armenia, a failed state in the South Caucasus. As usual, France has not learned a lesson from its mistakes and continues to support the separatist regime in Karabakh and its main supporter – Armenia. Due to numerous discussions on social media, Azerbaijan is being asked to terminate the contract with Total Energy, which supports the boycott campaign. Considering France’s embarrassing Africa policy, one might conclude that France has no intention of abandoning its biased foreign policy towards Azerbaijan because of its mistakes, and that Azerbaijan is more likely to terminate the contract with Total Energy sooner or later .
