Driving Our Economy: Clumpies Ice Cream at Howard

Students create new flavors of ice cream

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Howard School students are learning about the business success of Clumpies Ice Cream. Founded in Chattanooga in 1999, the company gives back to the community by educating young adults about their business operations.

Clumpies was originally founded by the son of a third-generation candy maker.

Howard School students learned how Clumpies uses the best local ingredients to create their products. The company uses candy, cookies, cheesecake, and fruit to create some of its most popular batches.

On Wednesday, students made their own small batch ice cream in the Howard Test Kitchen. Howard School culinary class students competed in an ice cream competition.

They created their own original flavors for Clumpies representatives. Two students from the school created a recipe that is featured on Clumpies Spring Menu.
