Don’t let idiots ruin the economy | News, sports, jobs

If your child needs  -pendectomy, would you have President Joe Biden do the operation?

The answer is obvious, unless you are depraved or tragedy has rendered you inc -able of rational thinking: “No.” Why? Because he’s not qualified.

Let me point out something else that should be obvious: the United States economy is even more complex than a single human body. It is the largest economy in the world with a gross domestic product of more than $ 22 trillion. There are more than 30 million companies in this country, ranging in size from a single owner to 2.2 million employees. In 2019, the U.S. economy employed more than 157 million people in hundreds of industries. It meets the needs and supports the daily lives of not only the 333 million people who live in this country, but literally billions of others around the world who use our products and services.

Nothing in the President’s job description – by which I mean Article II of the United States Constitution – gives him the power or the right to “Fundamental Change” the US economy. I would go further and venture that most of the people who actually voted for Biden don’t want that “Fundamental Change” he and his puppeteers are thinking.

This evidently mentally weak person is utterly unfit to make monumental decisions about the direction of the US economy. But that may be unfair to Biden as none of the others who strive to remake it according to their image are also qualified. You’ve never started a business, developed a product or service that the public is willing (as opposed to being taxed) to pay for, built a business around it, and done payrolls every week. But even if they did, that wouldn’t qualify them for running or much less “Fundamental Change” the US economy.

We are already suffering the consequences of the idiotic choices made by some of these people. On the first day of his tenure, Biden issued an executive order that closed the Keystone XL oil pipeline and ended the energy independence that the US had achieved under former President Donald Trump. Gas prices have skyrocketed in the months since, and have soared 65 percent (or an average of $ 1.10 per gallon) last year. That drives up the price of everything else. According to Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody’s Analytics, every one cent increase at the pump costs Americans a billion dollars. A $ 1 increase will cost us $ 100 billion.

As far as can be calculated, the COVID-19 lockdown resulted in the permanent shutdown of 200,000 businesses in 2020. We have a supply chain crisis that threatens to worsen every day. Closures of our busiest ports in Los Angeles and Long Beach, California added to the backlog. Ports are now open, but in the past month there were 157 ships floating off the California coast waiting to unload, with more arriving every day. Transport bottlenecks have been exacerbated by the government’s decision to extend unemployment benefits, with people being essentially paid not to work. There are currently nearly 11 million open positions in the US – a record. Companies that did not go under during the COVID-19 lockdown are struggling to recover. without enough staff, they will not be able to.

Not only health care workers are affected. Dozens of Massachusetts state soldiers have submitted their resignation p -ers. Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva refuses to enforce the mandate for fear of losing “5 to 10 percent” his police. Last weekend, pilots and air traffic controllers from Southwest Airlines in the southeastern United States are supposed to be at one “Illness” Protest that resulted in delays and cancellations of thousands of flights.

It is not that a competent government (if we had one) should anticipate and plan for all of these eventualities. On the contrary, it cannot possibly be expected from a single person or group of people.

America’s phenomenal economic success is due to the fact that it is not centrally planned or controlled. The current government is home to a cadre of self-proclaimed social engineering geniuses who believe they can “Fundamental Change” Things to their liking. If we let them pursue their goals, they will destroy the American economy and with it the country.
