CUYAHOGA COUNTY, Ohio — A new National Park Service report estimates that Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP) contributed $86 million to the local economy in 2022.

According to the report, an estimated $56 million came from tourists spending their money in surrounding communities and the park. The spending supported more than 778 jobs and boosted the region’s economy by an additional $30 million.
In 2022, the park received about 2.9 million tourists, the report said.
“We recognize that tourism is a critical driver of the local economy, bringing jobs and revenue to local communities,” said Lisa Petit, CVNP Superintendent. “Every dollar that Congress invests in national parks returns more than $10 back to the economy.”
