Economist Paul Brewbaker is telling the truth Hawaii’s leaders need to hear. His April 7 appearance on Honolulu Star-Advertiser’s “Spotlight Hawaii” is a must-read for anyone who cares about our future.
His “local” presentation style is fun and engaging, but his messages are serious and to the point.
Brewbaker said Hawaii is in recession and provided facts to back it up, noting that our post-pandemic economic growth has slowed while the nation is rising. This is worrying.
He made insightful observations like “You can build a renewable energy plant, you just can’t run it” and “We’re choking on tourism, we’re choking on astronomy, we’re choking on renewable energy,” before adding, “It has to be a politically correct one.” be renewable energy, you can’t make biomass.” So true!
Spotlight Hawaii is a valuable resource. I hope Brewbaker continues to be a regular guest and continues to tell the truth that we need to know.
