President Biden will travel to Chicago on Wednesday to deliver a speech on the economy, the White House said on Friday.
Biden’s “keynote address” will be on the topic of “Bidenomics,” the President’s “vision for growing the economy from the center out and bottom up, not top down,” according to the White House.
Biden faces the tough task of convincing voters the U.S. economy is strong after spending the past year trying to pull himself out of a multitude of economic setbacks.

His remarks in Chicago will come a few weeks after news that inflation has fallen to its lowest level since March 2021 and after the Federal Reserve decided to leave interest rates unchanged for the first time since January 2022.
He previously touted the strong job market, with an unemployment rate of around 3.7 percent and millions of new jobs during his tenure. But lower inflation and the Fed’s decision give Biden an additional boost as he focuses on his re-election.
During his stay in Chicago, Biden will also attend a campaign reception. He has traveled to Democratic strongholds, most recently New York City and San Francisco, to raise funds ahead of his first funding report for the 2024 campaign in July.
