Biden “can talk whatever he wants,” but the economic rhetoric misses the mark: Byron York

The Washington Examiner's Byron York found that President Joe Biden's rhetoric on the economy is not resonating with the public.

“You can’t talk about an economy where people are doing poorly,” York told Special Report with Bret Baier. “And the prices of food, the prices of housing and the shortage of housing are making a difference – these are very basic things that everyone needs to have. And they still make people feel bad.”

York's comments come as the Bureau of Economic Analysis said Friday that inflation rose to an annual rate of 2.5% in February, up a tenth of a percentage point from the previous level.

York echoed the sentiment of the recent Fox poll, which showed that people do not believe they are better off today than they were four years ago.

“Almost everyone, a large majority, says, 'No, that's not us,'” York added. “President Biden can talk all he wants, but he just can’t overcome this feeling that people have.”
