ALBUQUERQUE, NM (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Regional Economic Alliance (AREA) is working to diversify the economic base of the greater Albuquerque region. They strive to do just that, creating a prosperous, diverse and inclusive economy to also raise living standards.

The Albuquerque Regional Economic Alliance (AREA) is a nonprofit organization that guides and implements strategies to provide targeted infrastructure investments that attract businesses to Albuquerque. For example, we need more commercial real estate. Albuquerque currently has a very low vacancy rate compared to our peers around us.
AREA will host a mixer on March 16th. The theme will be “The Case for Downtown”. They’ll bring together downtown experts from across the country to share what they’ve done to make Downtown successful. During the shuffle, they will open a panel for the downtown businesses to speak and discuss what has worked and areas where help may be needed.
