Danske Bank A/S painted a more optimistic scenario for the Swedish economy than most other forecasters, as it expects the Nordic region's largest country to return to output growth next year as inflation eases and the Riksbank cuts interest rates .
The Copenhagen-based bank now expects a 0.2% contraction in the economy this year, hit by rising borrowing costs and a slump in housing construction, followed by 1.3% growth in 2024, on a calendar-adjusted basis . This view contrasts with most of its competitors, who expect Sweden's gross domestic product to decline for two years in a row.
