Who are the nicest Aussies in Hollywood? Fans reveal their best celebrity encounters as they crown the most down to earth and generous stars

Hollywood is known for its glitz and glamour, and its biggest stars are often recognizable everywhere.

While fans eagerly keep up with the antics of their favorite stars, there is still a certain amount of mystery surrounding Hollywood and the stars' off-screen lives.

But fans have now given an honest look into the real lives of A-listers off-screen, recalling their best and most memorable celebrity encounters.

In a series of Reddit posts, users revealed who the cutest Australian celebrities are by revealing which household names were sure to live up to their expectations.

Here, Daily Mail Australia takes a look at which Australian stars have received the well-deserved distinction of being among the nicest people in Hollywood.

HUGH JACKMAN

Hugh Jackman has long had a reputation for being a kind man, and many fans have shared their favorite stories about him.

Although Hugh is known for his portrayal of the cranky, tough and angry superhero Wolverine, he is much more likable in real life.

The esteemed actor, 55, was praised for his “down-to-earth” personality and his “generosity” towards his fans as no one had a bad word to say about him.

One fan revealed that he used to see Hugh at the gym, while another recalled meeting the Hollywood star while filming the 2008 film Australia.

“I just join the chorus of everyone else who says Hugh Jackman is lovely. I met him briefly when he was filming 'Australia' in North Queensland and he couldn't have been nicer,” said one.

“Polite, kind, funny, down to earth and generous with his time. Top guy.”

Another recalled: “Hugh Jackman went to my gym while filming Wolverine. He said good morning every time I saw him (at 5:30am!) and asked how I was doing.

And a third agreed, adding: “My former roommate did some plumbing work for Hugh Jackman and said he was one of the nicest people he'd ever met.”

SARAH SNOOK

Sarah Snook recently rose to fame after starring as Shiv Roy in the HBO hit series Succession.

She won an Emmy and a Golden Globe for her role, and one social media user revealed how she always makes time for her adoring fans.

“Hung out with Sarah Snook once as she was a friend of a friend. “She was super nice and genuine,” they said.

“Lots of people came up to her throughout the night to take photos (we were at a live music show at the Brooklyn Bowl in NYC), and she took her time with each and every one of them.”

While another gushed: “I'd love a drink with Sarah – seems like a normal person but is an incredible talent.”

KYLIE MINOGUE

The Queen of Pop herself was also highly regarded by the Australian.

Kylie Minogue was described as a “really lovely person” as fans recalled her down-to-earth experiences with the global superstar.

They also praised their famous sister Dannii and praised the Minogue family for their kindness.

One wrote: “Kylie Minogue. “A really lovely person,” while another said: “You can tell with Kylie. “Really warm.”

A third said: “I was an entertainment reporter for several years.” Of the famous Australians I've met, I'm happy to say that Isla Fisher, Kylie Minogue and Hugh Jackman are all really adorable in real life.

Another added: “I never met Dannii but Kylie was just wonderfully ordinary.” “Humble in the best sense of the word.”

One gushed: “My parents met Danni in Singapore (I think). They all flew first class and Danni helped Mom and Dad figure out what they could do with a connecting flight. They said she was absolutely lovely.'

JIMMY BARNES

Jimmy Barnes is another Australian superstar who has won over fans with his kindness and positive personality.

The 67-year-old singer, who has been recovering from open-heart surgery in recent weeks, has appeared in numerous posts with fans raving about their experiences with him.

One recalled how Jimmy kindly bought a group of friends a full round of drinks after he accidentally knocked over their beers.

“Funnily enough, I had heard that from my brother too. “Jimmy tripped over my brother's foot in a bar, knocked over their beers, bought everyone another round, sat down and had a few drinks with them,” they said.

Another fan said of the Cold Chisel star: “Jimmy Barnes sold him a camera many years ago and he was the nicest guy you could meet, down to earth and no attitude whatsoever.”

A third added: “I agree, I met him briefly too many years ago and he kind of blew me away with how down to earth and genuine he was.”

“I didn't expect people to know/recognize who he was, just happy to be a normal guy and was a really good guy :).”

LARRY EMDUR

Larry Emdur is known for his warm personality as co-host of The Morning Show and host of The Chase Australia.

And fans have said the 59-year-old TV personality is just as friendly off screen as he is on screen, describing him as a “legend”.

One revealed that they worked with Larry and recalled his very down-to-earth desire for his dressing room.

“Larry Emdur is an absolute legend.” I was working with him on a show and they asked him what he needed in his dressing room. “He said fresh towels, but if we didn’t have any, he could just bring some from home,” they said.

Another recalled how Larry was very friendly to them when they appeared on The Chase Australia and tried to calm them down.

“The man is super down to earth and has a really warm demeanor.” We were all a bit nervous being on TV but he came over between takes and chatted to us to make sure we were OK. “Gave us advice on how to stay calm, loosen up and have fun,” they explained.

ROBERT IRWIN

Steve Irwin's son has gained fame working with his family at Australia Zoo and is now making the move into television presenting.

20-year-old Robert has spent his childhood in the spotlight, become a household name in Australia and already has a reputation for being a nice guy.

Fans were quick to praise the star, his older sister Bindi and their mother Terri for their kindness.

One wrote: “Robert Irwin – I've met him a few times while working in hospitality and he's the sweetest person ever.”

Another said: “Yes, I met the Irwins and chatted to Terri, they are such a lovely family.”

Others also paid tribute to Robert's famous father Steve, who tragically died on Batt Reef near Port Douglas on September 4, 2006 when he was attacked by a stingray.

One fan lovingly shared his memories of the beloved conservationist, writing: “Steve Irwin. “He was a beautiful person.”

Another said: “Steve Irwin.” “Really great guy and 100% as enthusiastic in person as he seemed on screen.”

And fans who met the 60-year-old TV presenter along the way were impressed by his kindness and “enthusiasm”.

“I met him on the beach while he was swimming and he had a long chat with me about my recently deceased grandma,” one person recalled.

“We watched Gardening Australia together. Absolute gem of a person and I love everything he stands for.”

Another raved: “One year he was the featured guest at the Crookwell Potato Festival.” He was so nice to everyone and so enthusiastic. He was pure joy.'

A third recalled: “Absolutely, I was strolling through the local nursery here in Brisane and it turns out our gardening was being filmed in Australia and Costa.”

“Costa noticed us in the time between shots and then started showing my daughter different plants and teaching her different facts.

“Daughter was about 6 years old at the time.” “He's an absolutely amazing person.”

One added: “I've worked with him a few times and he was the sweetest guy.”

“He even took an extra half hour to show me how to use new software for a livestream we were doing. 'Forever a fan.'
