Scottish golf star’s “toilet” quote regarding the perception of celebrities is pure gold | This is the Loop

“If you ask me it’s obscene money to throw sport,” said the 25-year-old Scot on Wednesday ahead of the 2022 British Masters. “There’s only so much money as a person needs.”

Wise words from a young man, huh? But he was just getting started.

“So for me I’m comfortable at the moment,” continued the 73rd player in the world. “I have a house, a home, my family is healthy. I have a car that I can drive. I have clothes to wear and I can still spoil myself and my family. What do I need? Right now , I’m as happy as I can be in the life of Robert MacIntyre.”

And I’m happy just hearing how happy this guy is. MacIntyre also spoke about playing in the Pro-Am with Scottish football star John McGinn and he delivered a line about it that was meant to replace the old idiom about people putting their pants on one leg at a time.

“I was nervous playing with him today and when you talk to him he’s nervous about playing with me or attending events,” he said. “It’s just different. People think you are something you are not. They expect you to be special. But at the end of the day we use the same toilet.”

Brilliant! Children all over the world should be taught that. Although technically there is something wrong when you talk about personal toilets. Pat Perez has one for $8,000 at his Scottsdale mansion.

Of course, Bob. You seem like a real, um, normal guy.
