ISLAMABAD – Pakistani celebrities support Imran Khan, who was ousted as Prime Minister of Pakistan by a motion of no confidence in the National Assembly.
As opposition party members and leaders took to the streets to celebrate Khan’s ouster, many showbiz stars took to social media to express their condolences to the PTI leader.
Several actors were in shock, while others expressed hope for a better tomorrow.
Yumna Zaidi shared Nisar main teri galiyon ke, a poem by Faiz Ahmad Faiz, on Instagram.
Bilal Qureshi shared a snap of the cricketer and politician and wrote ‘Pakistan lost’.
Sadia Ghaffar said: “This is a sad night for democracy. Imran Khan was the best thing that could have happened to Pakistan.”
Comedian Zaid Ali called the day of the NA vote the “darkest day” in Pakistan’s history. “We as a nation have lost our most valuable asset. I salute the courage of Imran Khan where he fought to his last breath,” he added.

Maya Ali lamented the success of the no-confidence motion and described the day as the saddest and darkest day in Pakistan’s history.
“We have lost a jewel, a true politician and honest Prime Minister. I salute Imran Khan who did his best and fought for Pakistan’s sovereignty until the last moment. Thank you, Kaptaan,” she added.
Hareem Farooq also called the day a sad one in Pakistan’s history but expressed hope for a better tomorrow.

Senior actress and presenter Samina Peerzada said: “Let’s prepare the next elections, I will always stand by you, there is no need to panic, this is a new beginning.”

The motion of no confidence was backed by 174 MPs in the National Assembly late Saturday.
Meanwhile, Khan, who claimed the PDM alliance worked with the US to oust him, called on his supporters to hold nationwide rallies.
