Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi made the move to Hollywood from Washington, DC on Sunday night when she and husband Paul Pelosi attended the Vanity Fair Oscar party.
Two months after leaving political office, Nancy Pelosi, 82, was seen looking glamorous as she arrived at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills in a gold, fitted, sequined Giambattista Valli gown.
Paul Pelosi, also 82, cut an elegant figure as he posed alongside his wife in a classic black tuxedo. The businessman, who was brutally attacked at his home in California in October, completed his look with a hat.
As part of the event, Nancy Pelosi posed with a host of celebrities, including actress Holland Taylor, investigative journalist Ronan Farrow and Vanity Fair editor Radhika Jones, who hosted the star-studded event.

The party has a long tradition of attracting the most famous Oscars attendees as well as a large number of A-list names. This year was no different, with the exhaustive guest list including Oscar winners Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan and Brendan Fraser, as well as Michael B. Jordan, Kerry Washington, Sharon Stone, Olivia Wilde, Billie Eilish, Channing Tatum and Eva Longoria . to name a few.
Paul Pelosi, who fractured his skull and sustained serious injuries to his right arm and hands in the attack, notably kept one of his hands out of shot at the event. He wears a black glove on his injured hand.
His alleged assailant, David DePape, reportedly broke into the home of Paul and Nancy Pelosi in San Francisco on October 28 to look for the former spokesman. He called out, “Where’s Nancy?”
The 42-year-old has since been charged with state and federal charges, including attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, home burglary, elder abuse, false detention, threatening an officer and his family, assaulting a federal officer’s immediate family member and attempted kidnapping a federal officer.
DePape pleaded not guilty to the state charges in early November and to the federal charges in mid-November.
According to the San Francisco Police Department, the spokesman was not at home at the time of the incident.

San Francisco Superior Court Justice Stephen Murphy in January ordered the audio and video footage of the attack released after Adam Lipson, DePape’s public defender, campaigned against the materials’ release. Lipson said potential jurors reviewing the records could become prejudiced against his client.
In response to the release, Nancy Pelosi told reporters at the US Capitol, “As you know, some information was released today. I didn’t hear the 911 call. I didn’t hear the confession. I did not see the break-in, and I have absolutely no intention of seeing the fatal assault on my husband’s life.”
During an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper in November, Nancy Pelosi opened up about the physical and emotional journey of her husband’s recovery.
“[The head injury was] in two places above. And that’s pretty awful. It’s pretty awful,” she said on Anderson Cooper 360°. “But the good news was when he came – when he had surgery and we were blessed by the health experts at San Francisco General – they told us his brain wasn’t pierced, which could be fatal or worse.”

Nancy Pelosi went on to explain the seriousness of her husband’s surgery. “What they had to do was they had to take the skull off, reshape it, and put it back in so it didn’t scratch or pierce the brain. It’s pretty – it’s quite serious surgery… Always worry about the bruises, all the rest.”
As for Paul Pelosi’s emotional state, his wife said, “He’s fine.”
“It is a long way. But he knows he has to slow down,” she shared during the conversation. “He’s such a gentleman that he doesn’t complain. But he also knows it’s a long road. He is so concerned about the traumatic impact on our children and our grandchildren. And we are concerned about the traumatic impact on him.”
Nancy Pelosi added: “For me that’s really the hard part because Paul wasn’t the target. And he’s the one paying the price.”
