The Yoruba Nollywood industry is one that has undoubtedly generated a lot of conversation over the years for various reasons.
Sometimes people either praise the films they churn out or make it a point to point out production mistakes that could have been avoided. Despite this, Nigerians seem to have a love-hate relationship with Yoruba Nollywood.
Interestingly, not all of the best Yoruba Nollywood stars that we see on our screens are actually from western Nigeria.

Yoruba Nollywood seems to be very inclusive and does not discriminate when it comes to talent. This seems to be why some of its top stars are from different tribes.
Today, Legit.ng will take a look at some top Yoruba Nollywood actors who aren’t actually Yoruba. See below:
1. Mercy Aigbe:
Mercy Aigbe is undoubtedly one of the best Yoruba actresses in the country. She hails from Edo State and from time to time pays homage to her heritage on social media. Mercy has shown that she speaks Yoruba very fluently and she has acted in more of these films than English language ones.
2. Nkechi Blessing on Sunday:
The controversial actress has built her brand around the Yoruba language and it’s always hard to imagine that she isn’t from western Nigeria. Nkechi is from Abia State but grew up in Lagos State.

3. Rykardo Agbor:
This veteran Nollywood actor has been around for quite a while and has shown his versatility in both English and Nigerian language Yoruba films. Agbor is from the state of Delta.
4. Rachel Oniga:
This veteran Nollywood actress graced our TV screens for many years before she passed away in 2021. The late Oniga was from Delta State but acted in both Yoruba and English language films.
5. Kevin Ikeduba:
This 45-year-old Nollywood veteran rose to fame after starring in Yoruba films. He was usually cast as one of the bad boy characters and fans love him for it. Ikeduba is from Delta State but has lived in Lagos for many years.
6. Regina Chukwu:
This veteran Nollywood star hails from the eastern part of the country but is best known in the film industry for her roles in Yoruba films. The movie star had elementary and college education in Lagos State and is fluent in Yoruba.

Popular Nigerian actress Ini Edo has now turned 40 and celebrated her birthday with fans on social media.
Taking to her official Instagram page, the veteran movie star posted a beautiful photo of herself rocking a gorgeous pink ball gown.
The actress looked every inch a birthday princess in her floor-length, puff-sleeved gown. Ini also accessorized the look with a pearl necklace on her hair.
