There’s no denying that in recent years Austin, TX has emerged as one of the premier entertainment hubs in the country, drawing tourists and celebrities alike.
It’s also become a popular place for celebs to pick up their California roots and settle in the state capital.
Many stars were in town for the ATX TV Festival last weekend and visited great hotspots. Some A-listers, like Kristen Bell and Hillary Duff, didn’t hesitate to share their favorite spots on Instagram.
Lake Austin
The stars had a lake day at Lake Austin and Bell’s husband Dax Shepard shared a photo. She was pictured on camera with his wife of parenting, Joy Bryant, as well as other friends cruising on the blue lake all day.
The caption reads, “‘The Real Wife and TV Wife of Austin’ premieres on @bravotv this fall.”
It might be a joke, but some IG commenters wonder if he hints at a move from Bell-Shepard to the capital anytime soon.
The salt lick
The group even stopped at popular Hill Country restaurant, The Salt Lick, for an irresistible barbecue.
“Look who came over for a barbecue (again)!” We’re assuming this isn’t her first rib rib here, according to the company’s repost of Kristen’s original photo.
The restaurant’s delicious meat dishes paired with a refreshing Texas Hill Country wine are irresistible.

Duff definitely had something to say about her Austin barbecue experience in her Instagram story. She and her family were in town the other day because of her husband, Matthew Koma. His band had a show at Stubb’s.
During their visit, the family decided to try the famous Terry Black’s Barbecue, and it looks like it didn’t disappoint.
The spot was recently voted one of the best BBQ spots in the Lone Star State by Texas Monthly, and the former Disney Channel star thinks they serve up a pretty mean chest.

Bell called her meal at the lively Caribbean restaurant “one of the top 5 meals of my life” in her Austin Instagram post.
The fruity cocktail menu and bold Caribbean flavors of the food at 6th St. Restaurant must have been life changing.
There’s a lot to explore in the Texas state capital, and our favorite stars are sure to have a blast doing it.
