If you’re active on Instagram, there’s a good chance you’ve come across someone – not necessarily a celebrity – lip-syncing to the “Just looks like a wow” dialogue. But if not, we’ll explain to you why this grammatically incorrect but very expressive sentence is causing a stir on social media.

Jasmeen Kaur, a Delhi-based women’s clothing store owner, first used the term to describe a yellow kurta set in an Instagram video posted on October 9. And thanks to Kaur’s enthusiastic and refreshing oratory, it soon went viral.

People, including actors, began using Kaur’s audio to describe a range of pretty or desirable things, from a good outfit to deliciously prepared food. And the latest to jump on the bandwagon is none other than singer-actor Nick Jonas, who praised his wife Priyanka Chopra’s recent performance at the opening of Jio World Plaza in Mumbai.

On Wednesday, Jonas shared Chopra’s photos on his Instagram Stories and wrote, “So beautiful, so elegant… just looks like a wow.” In the photo, Chopra is wearing a neon green Sabyasachi sari.

This meme established itself as a viral trend after popular composer Yashraj Mukhate, who is known for making catchy jingles out of trending videos and audio, featured Kaur’s audio in a jingle. Titled “What A Wow,” it has garnered over three 300,000 likes since its release on October 26th.

The celebrities were also quick to share their videos with the same dialogue.

First, Sanya Malhotra shared a video in which she flaunted her outfit and makeup as Mukhate and Kaur’s ‘What a wow!’ Jingle was playing in the background.

However, the trend received the most support from celebrities when Deepika Padukone posted a clip on her Instagram timeline. This clip has been viewed over 66 million times.

Apart from actors, cricketers too seem to have adopted this trend. Recently, cricketer KL Rahul commented on his wife Athiya Shetty’s Instagram photos and wrote, “So beautiful… so elegant… just looks like a wow!” In response, Shetty wrote, “KL Rahul, I can hear you .”
