Kelly Clarkson reveals the reason she’s moving her talk show to NYC

Kelly Clarkson revealed the real reason behind wanting to move her show to New York in an interview on Saturday.

Make a wish, take the chance, make a change – and move to New York.

Kelly Clarkson, 42, appeared on Nancy O’Dell’s TalkShopLive to promote her new album Chemistry and revealed the reason the talk show was moving to New York is because she and her family are united need a “fresh start”.

“I was like, ‘Guys, you guys need to know what’s going on,'” said the “Since U Been Gone” singer. “‘As if it were. “I can’t go on with the show or I’ll have to do it like East Coast.”

Clarkson, who recently very publicly divorced Brandon Blackstock, said she came to the decision to postpone the show during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Covid has pointed this out [that] being isolated and being so far from family… that’s not good for anyone,” the “Breakaway” singer said. “And my family is from the East Coast, they live in North Carolina.”

“So it was one of those things that I just had to do … and there were also a lot of personal things that happened that made me feel like our family like me and my kids really needed a fresh start,” Clarkson continued. “It just didn’t work out here, and there’s just one hurdle after another, and I was like, guess what? I thought I had to go to the east coast.”

Clarkson said she told her show’s crew about the upcoming move and that since she’s had a wonderful relationship with the crew, “it kind of sucks to rip it out and postpone it.”

According to the singer, the move “was 100 percent my idea and it was really cool that NBC supported me.”

“I was like, ‘You all, I love doing this show. I really do. I didn’t even know I was going to do it, but I need to make a change for myself and my family. “Any chance we could do this,” Clarkson said. “I know we can’t do this from my ranch, so there’s a chance we’ll do it in New York [because] at least it’s closer to my family.’ That was really the main reason.”

During the interview, the 42-year-old also said that staying in New York would allow her to be closer to Broadway, teasing that she was “in the process of writing something at the moment.”

“I’m in the process of getting my show ready, and we’re in the process of putting together a great crew,” Clarkson said, dodging O’Dell’s question about writing something for the stage. “I’m totally focused on the talk show for a minute. But I also work in the background.”

Clarkson’s move comes quickly after Rolling Stone reported in a bombastic report that several of the singer’s employees were “traumatized” after working with a certain producer on the show.

The singer responded to the allegations after she was accused of posting a photo promoting her new music amid claims of a “toxic work environment”.

“In my 20 years in entertainment, I’ve always led with my heart and what I thought was right,” she wrote in a post shared on Instagram. “I love my team on The Kelly Clarkson Show and to find out that anyone on this show feels unheard or disrespected is unacceptable.”

The singer concluded by saying that she has always been, and will continue to be, committed to creating “a safe and healthy environment behind the scenes” and that this is a leadership training session for all senior executives, including herself. may be.
