WWhat can we say about black women that hasn’t been said ad nauseam here at Black America Web since the site first launched over two decades ago? Never mind, it’s worth repeating: BLACK. GIRL. ROCK!

After back-to-back celebrations of Black History Month and Women’s History Month in February and March respectively, it’s pretty clear that black women cannot be limited in the slightest when it comes to what they can accomplish in this world. Because we live in a capitalist society, black women’s income also reflects their overall power.
To be clear, it doesn’t have to be about showing your financial worth or making others feel less valuable; it may actually be the opposite. Read what Flynanced®’s Cinneah had to say on Twitter in January 2022 about the wealth discussion, which we think sums things up perfectly:

I don’t share my salary and assets to show off.
I’m sharing it because watching black women need a new vision of what’s possible.
We work WAY too hard to get paid for crumbs.
This is life changing money and I want it for all of us.

With that being said, we had to share this rather interesting news that we came across through the good ladies at ThatSister. They recently compiled an updated list of the famous black women we know and love who happen to be the most marketable in their respective fields of fame. Net worth can vary slightly (or significantly!) from the actual number, so try to think of these in terms of baseball numbers rather than specific dollars.
From media moguls and top-of-the-pop chart queens to A-list movie sirens and handsome philanthropists – some of them are all four! – We wanted you to see who calls the shots in the industry when it comes to our melanized Hollywood heroines.
