Elon Musk was recently interviewed and appeared on the Full Send podcast where he addressed various issues including the ruling against Brittney Griner in Russia, which he urged President Biden and the US government to help her return and also on drug control reform.
During the podcast he asked Joe Biden “If the President is working so hard to free someone who is in prison in Russia for weed, shouldn’t we free the people of America?”

Joe Biden has said on record that he and the government are “working hard” and “hopeful” to bring Brittney Griner home and consider the prisoner swap for Viktor Grout, also known as the “Merchant of Death.”
Musk mentioned that he wasn’t an avid cannabis user as it wasn’t that good for his productivity.

A few years ago Elon Musk was interviewed by Joe Rogan and during the interview he smoked a joint with him while he was in California where smoking cannabis was legal in the state but is still illegal at the federal level.

Elon Musk suffered a huge backlash
After the interview, he suffered a tremendous backlash from competitors, investors and the government alike. He mentioned that “SpaceX has contracts with the federal government, so our competitors were like, ‘Why aren’t you doing something? Check out him brazenly smoking weed on Joe Rogan’s podcast.” SpaceX employees were routinely required to undergo drug tests the following year, after the video went viral.
On the other hand, Elon Musk’s Tesla shares also suffered from scolding as they fell about 9% according to what he mentioned on the podcast, not necessarily because of his cannabis use.
