Drug bust at five-star hotel: Celebrities, kin of politicians among people taken into custody – INDIA – GENERAL

HYDERABAD — More than 150 people, including celebrities and their families, have been taken into custody in a drug raid at a five-star hotel here. Niharika, daughter and actress of actor Nagababu, Rahul Sipliguni, singer and famous Telugu Bigg Boss, daughter of former Andhra Pradesh DGP Gautam Sawang and son of Guntur MP Galla Jayadev were among those arrested in the case. Niharika was later released by the police.

Police raided a hotel in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, over a tip that a rave party was taking place. The raid took place around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday. Drugs such as cocaine, charas and cannabis were found during the raid. The police took the hotel staff and staff into custody. It is reported that the rave party was organized under abuse of the bar license until morning. Meanwhile, the Banjara Hills Police Inspector was suspended for not taking action despite knowing about the party. Senior officials said the party was being held at the hotel with the knowledge of police.
