Channel Seven in crisis as they struggle to find celebrities to go on Dancing With The Stars

Channel Seven is in the midst of a major crisis as Dancing With The Stars producers are struggling to find celebrity candidates to take part in the upcoming 2023 season.

The network announced on Friday that it would be resurrecting the popular reality TV program for its 20th season.

While no mention was made of this year’s cast, rumors have been dispelled that a number of candidates for the dance show have been shortlisted ahead of production, which begins in May.

According to The Sunday Telegraph, Seven’s new recruit and celebrity vet, Dr. Chris Brown will not be able to hit the dance floor this year as he is still in the South African jungle to fulfill his obligations on Channel Ten’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

Meanwhile, former Sunrise host Samantha Armytage was also dropped from the lineup after being promoted to host Sevens Farmer Wants a Wife.

She replaced veteran presenter Natalie Gruzlewski, with insiders claiming Gruzlewski was “blinded” by the concussion.

Armytage has been associated with DWTS since she left Sunrise two years ago.

She also appeared in the 2011 series of the show.

Though there was no mention of the return of Dancing With The Stars alongside other recurring programs at last year’s Upfronts, the network has revealed that casting is currently underway.

The competition series is expected to be shown in the second quarter of the year.

Audiences have yet to find out which presenters, judges and cast members will be selected for this year’s season, which is being produced by ` Studios Australia.

It was also confirmed that the program will not be an All-Stars format this time, having done so for the past two seasons.

` Studios Managing Director of International Production and Formats Matt Forde said it was a change from their previous association with Warner Bros., who also co-produced the show.

“When we started four years ago that was the preferred route for local broadcasters… but for this series of the show, it’s produced entirely by ` Studios ANZ,” he said.

Former Dancing with the Stars host Grant Denyer and dancer Lily Cornish won last year’s competition.

It’s unclear if Sonia Kruger or Daryl Somers will host the upcoming season.
