Celebs back Sun’s Christmas card campaign to bring joy to kids with cancer this festive season

A host of celebrities supported our Christmas Cards for Kids appeal tonight, asking YOU to spread joy to children with cancer this festive season.

With just a week left until the big day, Gaby Roslin, Rick Astley, Lisa Snowdon and Martin Kemp as well as Gareth Gates and Laura Hamilton got on board.

Every penny you spend on our limited-edition Christmas cards – available at The Entertainer in-store and on thetoyshop.com – will go towards buying gifts for children in hospital over the festive period.

TV presenter Gaby has asked you to donate to this “wonderful” campaign and to buy the cards designed by reader children so that we can deliver as many gifts as possible nationwide.

The mother-of-two, 59, said: “This is wonderful and vitally important.

“The children who were in hospital over Christmas cannot go home. Everyone deserves some joy.

“Imagine putting a smile on this child’s face.”

Singer and father-of-two Rick, 57, said: “Everyone out there, buy these Christmas cards so other children who may be in hospital or may not be having the best Christmas can have a bit of joy.”

Actor, Spandau Ballet star and father-of-two Martin, 62, said: “The Sun on Sunday campaign is a wonderful idea.

“At Christmas, more than any other time of year, parents need that extra support.

“Let’s all get as much help as we can to the people who need it most.”

Another celebrity who thinks our campaign, launched with our charity partner Children With Cancer UK, is “beautiful” is TV presenter Lisa, 51.

She said: “I’m right behind The Sun on Sunday’s campaign. My condolences go out to everyone affected by cancer and to all families affected by cancer.

“Christmas is a time for family and it gets really hard when people you love are suffering.”

Singer Gareth, 39, said: “Get behind us and support us by buying these cards, you could really make it a magical Christmas.”

The mother-of-two and A Place In The Sun's Laura, 41, said: “There are families with poor children who really need our support. Do it – join in.”
