Celebrities who have visited the Peak District: From movie stars and pop royalty to TV presenters
The Peak District is home to beautiful hills, quaint villages and some absolutely fantastic restaurants, pubs and cafes. With the national park attracting thousands of visitors each year, it is no surprise that it has been the vacation destination of numerous famous people over the years.
Whether here for work or pleasure, a fair number of celebrities have been spotted in the Peak District. From ’90s music icons to high-profile Hollywood stars, the Peaks have impressed many famous people.
They include Dec from Ant and Dec, who spent time at a four-star hotel and pub in a High Peak village earlier in the year. American actor Tom Cruise is said to have enjoyed a take-away meal at the UK’s only listed fish and chip shop while filming new film ‘Mission Impossible 7’ in the Peak District last summer.
We’ve rounded up a few times where Hollywood’s elite left the red carpet and headed into the green, rolling hills of the Peak District. If you spot a celebrity in the Peak District, be sure to let us know.

Declan Donnelly—Hayfield
I’m A Celebrity star Declan Donnelly was spotted on holiday in Hayfield on the edge of the Peak District in August 2022. The star was spotted out in Hayfield, in High Peak, in the north of the county, and was happy to stop in to take photos with fans.

The ITV presenter was seen leaving the Royal Hotel in the village, where he took the time to stop and have a laugh with the locals who wanted to take a quick selfie. Dec, who appears to be on vacation with his wife and baby, was getting a stroller out of his car when he crashed into the happy fans.
Russell Crowe-Chatsworth House
The Oscar winner has often expressed his love for the Peak District after visiting the national park while filming Robin Hood. The New Zealand native has publicly stated that it is one of his favorite places on earth.
The film’s hero said: “I’ve seen magnificent buildings, mountains, oceans, waterfalls and everything, but the Peak District is at the top and you have to travel a very long way to find a building and grounds that even come close to being as beautiful like Chatsworth House.” . It is great.”
Tom CruiseStoney Middleton
The movie star and action man stunned the villagers when he showed up in Hope Valley in the summer of 2021 to shoot dramatic scenes for the new movie Mission Impossible 7. A film crew took over a vast site at Dalton Quarry to build an artificial railway saw a carriage fall off the cliff.
According to Curry Cottage manager Nadeem Khan, he ordered a number of curries for himself and his crew while in town. He said he also heard that Tom was excited about the village’s famous Toll Bar fish and chips takeaways.
Taylor Swift and Harry Styles – The Rising Sun in Bamford
The pop icons visited the village pub in the Peak District for a meal just over a decade ago during the run-up to Christmas when they were reportedly dating. The One Direction singer took the American superstar out to dinner before the couple visited his mother, who lived nearby.
After posing for photos and signing guests’ menus, Harry and Taylor settled the bill – which came to just over £100, along with a handsome tip. The pub closed its doors in 2017 and is on the way to becoming a new dog friendly hotel.
Liam GallagherStoney Middleton
Yes, another famous face recently visited the village of Stoney Middleton and ordered a bite from the Toll Bar Fish and Chip Shop. Gallagher was thought to be holidaying nearby and was also spotted staying at the Maynard Hotel in Grindleford.

The former Oasis singer ordered a variety of food including fish, chips and a breaded sausage and even posed for photos with staff and customers. The diner posted a photo of the superstar to Facebook and wrote: “Looks like Liam has found his haven in the Peak District.”
