Supporting Black-owned brands is not a new concept for ESSENCE. Although these brands deserve support like any other luxury brand, being endorsed by celebrities is also a plus. On our September cover, Keke Palmer wore her creative director Sergio Hudson’s design – an all-black catsuit with a round belt buckle. Real Housewives of Potomac cast member Karen Huger attended Hanifa’s first bridal presentation and showed her support by wearing a dress from the designer. Rising R&B singer Coco Jones wore an upcycled denim and sheer set designed by Sami Miro. Soccer star Ja’Marr Chase supported Who Decides War a few days ago in a unique tunnel look. Last but not least, gospel queen Tasha Cobbs impressed Leonard earlier this week in a blue Hanifa dress.
Keke Palmer wears Sergio Hudson
Keke Palmer is a risk-taker when it comes to her style. Her latest look from a Black designer comes from none other than her creative director Sergio Hudson. He refined her already fun style with looks like this all-black catsuit paired with a circular belt with a gold buckle. She added a pair of large gold earrings that went well with the buckle detail.
Ken Huger wears Hanifa
Karen Huger, one of our favorite Real Housewives of Potomac, was seen wearing one of the designer’s pieces at Hanifa’s first-ever bridal show. Huger showed her support in a hot orange short, long-sleeved flared dress. The added structure of raised stripes and the slight ruffle at the hem gave dimension to her look. She paired the short dress with a pair of gold-toned nude heels that featured a diamond-shaped design at the front.
Coco Jones wears Sami Miro
Rising singer Coco Jones was seen on her Instagram wearing a see-through upcycled denim outfit designed by Sami Miro. The look was reminiscent of 2000, but elevated. Her denim pants had mesh panels on the outsides of her thighs, while her halter bralette top with a bolero jacket had two buckles. She kept it simple with her black pointed heels and a pair of medium hoop earrings.
Tasha Cobbs Leonard wears Hanifa
Gospel singer Tasha Cobbs Leonard stunned in a blue Hanifa dress that she recently wore to the Dove Awards. Designed by J. Bolin, the piece was paired with a hat in a lighter shade of blue, oversized hoop earrings, and a stack of metal bracelets.
Ja’Marr Chase wears “He Who Decides the War”.
In a stylish tunnel look, Cincinnati Bengals’ Ja’Marr Chase wore a denim set from Who Decides War before a game against the Seattle Seahawks. He completed his set with denim sneakers from Nike.
