Celebrities feel the heat of the Masterchef kitchen in first look at new series

Celebrities from the worlds of music, sports, comedy, drama and show business feel the heat of the Masterchef kitchen ahead of the start of a brand new celebrity series of cook-off.

The star-studded version of the ` One cooking show launches on August 10.

Love Island star Faye Winter, Strictly Come Dancing pro Katya Jones, McFly singer Danny Jones and comedian Paul Chuckle are among the celebrities taking part in Celebrity MasterChef’s upcoming series.

In a first-look trailer, the show’s host duo Gregg Wallace and John Torode are back in the Masterchef kitchen, with Wallace, 57, jokingly telling the nervous celebrity: “Don’t worry about anything, the nation is watching. ”

With Torode, 56, he adds: “Let’s cook” in his typical Masterchef style.

As the celebs cook, British drag performer and RuPaul’s Drag Race star Kitty Scott-Claus says to the camera, “Fake it ’til you make it,” while donning a signature Masterchef apron.

Reality star Winter, 26, appears to be off to a rocky start as she was seen sitting on the floor next to a stove and told the camera: “I didn’t put my timer on.”

While Chuckle, 74, also appears to be struggling as he looks at the judges and asks, “Should I start again?”

Despite the issues faced by some contestants, the trailer also features some impressive looking dishes and Torode dancing for joy while trying one of the celebrity’s dishes.

Broadcasting over six weeks, the celebrities will complete a series of cooking challenges to follow in the footsteps of reigning champion Kadeena Cox and win the coveted MasterChef title.

This year’s 20 celebrities also include former boxing champion Chris Eubank, TV presenter Kirsty Gallacher, former soccer player Jimmy Bullard and actor Ryan Thomas.

Former EastEnders actor Richard Blackwood is also among the contestants, along with former All Saints band member Melanie Blatt and comedian Kae Kurd.

Also hoping to impress with their cooking skills are reality star MoJo, media personality Nancy Dell’Olio and British actress Lesley Joseph – as well as actors Adam Pearson and Clarke Peters.

This year, challenges Under The Cloche, The Street Food Challenge and Dinner Party Dish return in the four-week round of Heat, before the top half-week and final-week celebrities face off.

Post-pandemic, finalists in the series will face challenges cooking for large numbers of people – including a special centenary challenge to mark the `’s 100th anniversary.

Celebrity MasterChef, produced by Shine TV, returns to ` One and ` iPlayer on August 10th.
