Celebrities ‘distancing’ from Prince Harry-Meghan? No one wants ‘drama that…’ | World News

Celebrities are distancing themselves from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry looking like “one trick bangs,” a royal commentator claimed. Kinsey Schofield told Sky News: “They come across as a one trick pony on Netflix with their reality show. That’s the only successful title they have [have] so far over there.”

The couple’s documentary became the UK’s most-watched subscription TV show in December last year, with the first episode being watched by an average of 4.5 million people in the first seven days of its release.

Kinsey Schofield claimed companies and celebrities appear to be “distancing themselves” from the royal couple.

“Celebrities and corporations are distancing themselves from the Sussexes because they actually seem to be a flop. “They seem to bring a lot of drama with them wherever they go, over-promising and under-delivering,” she said. That comes as streaming company Spotify announced last week that it would not be renewing its deal with Archetypes, the Duke and Duchess’ podcast company.

It has also been claimed that the couple have been told to come up with more must-watch shows on Netflix if they want to settle £40million in royalties. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are believed to have only received half of their alleged £81million deal.

“They only get the rest if they produce really interesting content,” revealed an industry source. The source said the US giant is pleased with the ratings of the couple’s Harry & Meghan series. However, if no appropriate follow-up can be agreed, the outstanding funds will not be paid out,” reported The Sun, quoting a source as saying: “There can be no question of a headline-grabbing public adoption.”
