Martial arts expert and life coach Henry Hendrix
Sept. 18 (THEWILL) — Awarding honorary doctorates to celebrities in Nigeria has become one of the pastimes of Myles Leadership University, Cotonou, Republic of Benin.
A number of celebrities have been recognized by the institution for their notable achievements and generous contributions to their industry throughout their respective careers.
Some of the recent honorees include martial arts expert and life coach Henry Hendrix, who is a three-time World Kung Fu Champion in China and has been awarded a Doctorate in Martial Arts for the 23 years he has spent practicing mixed martial arts both in Nigeria and internationally Stage.
Relationship and marriage preacher Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo, founder of the David Christian Center, has been awarded a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Transformational Leadership. He was honored for his outstanding contribution to youth development and spiritual leadership.
Show business manager and promoter Obi Asika also earned a Doctor of Arts degree as a result of his work as an ecosystem builder and pioneer in the digital, entertainment and creative industries over the past three decades.
Veteran actress Joke Silva was one of the dignitaries honored by the university. She received a PhD in Arts and Entertainment for her contribution to the film industry, which spanned two decades.

The founder of Logic Church Global, Pastor Flourish Peters, also earned a PhD in Divinity from the prestigious university. Deola Art Alade, the better half of vocal singer Dare Alade, also has a PhD in Arts and Entertainment. She was honored for her contribution to show business in Nigeria.
A Nigerian disc jockey, Oluwaforijimi Amu, known professionally as DJ Jimmy Jatt, earned a PhD for his contributions as one of the pioneers of hip hop DJing in Nigeria.
