HYDERABAD: Legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao’s (ANR) 100th birth anniversary celebrations were held in grand style in Hyderabad. Born on September 20, 1923 in Ramapuram, Krishna district, ANR holds a special place in the hearts of Telugu cinema lovers. He graced the silver screen for over seven decades and left an indelible mark on Indian cinema.
The centenary celebration was held at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad where a statue of ANR was unveiled. The event was attended by several prominent personalities with former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu being the chief guest.
It was a star-studded affair attended by many luminaries of the Telugu film industry to pay their respects to the legendary actor.
The Akkineni family including Akkineni Nagarjuna, Sumanth, Naga Chaitanya, Amala and Akhil were present at the event and showed their deep reverence for the legacy of ANR.
