Alexa and Carlos PenaVega recount a devastating loss in their family.
The “Spy Kids” actress and Big Time Rush singer announced that her daughter died of a stillbirth in an emotional post on Instagram on Monday.
“You can never say the right words when it comes to loss,” the couple wrote in the joint post. “After a beautiful and peaceful birth, our daughter 'Indy' was born in peace. It was a painful journey. But in the pain we found peace.”
The couple revealed Alexa's pregnancy in a November 2023 Instagram post, which included a photo of the PenaVegas gently cradling Alexa's growing baby bump. “Thank God we love adventures 😍😍😍 Oh baby here we come! (Number four)! 🎉 📸,” they wrote at the time.
“This little girl has already changed our lives in so many ways,” the couple continued. “She was absolutely beautiful. And looked just like dad. Dark hair and everything. The grief has come to us in waves. Moments where we felt completely defeated..then moments where you feel blessed because you can just spend a moment with her.”

Alexa and Carlos got married in 2014. They have three children together: Ocean (7), Kingston (4) and Rio (2).
“We cannot understand why something like this happens and may never get these answers,” the couple concluded. “Indy Rex PenaVega, you have completely changed our world. You took us to a new place. You gave us the community we have.” I can’t wait to see how many other lives you change.
